And so it begins!

Today Leah got casted for her braces. Like I mentioned in my previous post she will be getting an AFO on her left leg and a SMO on her right. I can't believe that I'm totally ok with all of this! The amount of time we've been waiting for them has given me a lot of time to accept it and understand it.

Leah was fantastic during the casting! She only fussed a few times! It was so nice to be able to do it out of our house. Leah was comfortable with Barney on TV, a snack and a drink! It took about a half hour from start to finish. Now we wait for the braces to get here, shouldn't take more then a couple weeks!

My favorite part--designing her braces! This will probably be the only brace I ever completely decide on my own! By the time she is ready for her next one, I'm certain she will want to choose!

I am so glad it went smoothly. Are you going to keep us in suspense or tell us what the design is?

So glad it went well and you are feeling good about everything. I am really happy you will get the brace back so quickly!!!

We don't get to choose the plastic color, it is all white here. With Sammy's AFO, we got to pick Spiderman on the back. Now we just have a plain SMO because as you will see it is so small, there is no room for as picture.

I can't wait to see the braces!!!

So...what design did you choose?? When Avery got casted, I chose first, then decided to let Avery choose. Then after we left, I realized what a moron I was letting a 1.5 year old choose and switched it back to just plain white LOL. Since they said she could have it for up to 2 years, I didn't want to be stuck with a 3 year old who refused to wear it just because she suddenly decided she hated teddy bears or camo or something LOL. But I still think it would've been nice if we went with a cute pattern.

LOL! So, I didn't mean to keep everyone in suspense! It's going to be pink and purple, with different colored hearts. See, why I didn't tell you all? It's hard to explain! :)

Sarah--You have totally just freaked me out! :) J/K! Leah will probably only have these braces for 6-9 months, so by then I'm sure she'll want to decide!

I'm glad to hear everything went smoothly! We didn't get to choose anything for Bennett's brace - so it's just plain. I was kind of bummed about that. So what did you pick or do we have to wait?
